Passengers Injured in Train Collision with Dump Truck
At least seven passengers suffered minor injuries when a Metrolink train crashed into a dump truck that was on the tracks of the Antelope Valley line in Los Angeles. Five of the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Emergency services reported that there was a lack of air conditioning, fresh air or water for passengers stuck in the train while paramedics evaluated those onboard for injuries.
If you or a loved one were a passenger in a railroad accident and were injured or suffered damage to your property due to the negligence of others, you may be able to bring a personal injury claim against the rail carrier, a rail authority or another related and liable entity. You may be able to seek damages for medical costs, loss of earnings, loss of property, pain and suffering, and other types of losses. In some states, you could also be awarded substantial punitive damages if your injury was caused by a flagrant indifference to your safety.
In all cases of passenger injury, whether or not you think you may have a personal injury case, you should contact an experienced train accident attorney. They can help you determine the full extent of your injuries and manage your insurance claim. Insurance companies make substantial profits out of customers who do not present their claim effectively, and individuals who sustained injuries in train accidents may not be aware of all their rights as these accidents happen relatively infrequently. A lawyer can help you get the payout you are entitled to.
